Designs for the PlugVan camper module

Bateleur eagle

The bateleur (Terathopius ecaudatus) is a bird of prey and belongs to the eagle subfamily. Like many campers, it is a long-distance migrant and covers more than 4.000 kilometers each year from its breeding grounds to its wintering grounds. For wintering, it prefers the open or semi-open savanna landscapes. It owes its name to its rocking soaring flight, in which it holds its wings in a deep V at about 60 km/h and rocks back and forth. He loves long and extended search flights and is on the same wavelength as us. We were inspired by his beautiful dark colors. The dark blue in combination with the yellow and the gray.

The bullfinch (Pyrrhula pyrrhula) is a species of bird in the finch family (Fringillidae). It is also known as the bullfinch in some places and inhabits mainly Europe, the Near East and East Asia. We especially liked its bright rose-red breast. In addition, the beautiful blue coloration of the wings and back. No wonder that the bullfinch is often seen as a decorative background motif on old depictions of the Garden of Eden. Something really different for a change, we thought, and let the bullfinch inspire us to this color concept. And being on the road with the camper is almost like being in the Garden of Eden.

  • Base cabinets in coral and light gray
  • Side extensions in sky blue
  • Upholstery in brown and yellow
  • Tables in real wood

Mahi Mahi

The Mahi Mahi is a fish from the family of the gold mackerel (Coryphaenidae) and similar to the bullfinch we were fascinated by its colors. It is one of the fastest (on the hunt it manages up to 60km/h) and is said to be extremely tasty. The Mahi Mahi is therefore also very popular among sport fishermen. In English they are called Dolphinfish, although there is no relation to dolphins. It is found in tropical and subtropical seas and can also be found in the Mediterranean Sea in the fall. Admittedly, it's a long way to the tropics, but you can get to the Mediterranean quite comfortably in your camper.
